Phillies clinch 1st place - Fountain Valley Mustang Majors PDF Print E-mail

Kyle winding upIt's been a great season. Kyle's team, The Phillies, clinched 1st place going into the playoffs. The season seemed to just fly by.  Every game was fun and exciting for the whole team. Kyle had a great time playing 1st base, pitching, playing 3rd base and outfield. No matter what position he played, he always did his best. As with most kids, his favorite thing to do was HIT HIT HIT. There was always someone on the team that stepped up and got a hit to either win the game or get the tie. This year the teams were all evenly matched. Even though we took 1st place, we had 3 ties so there are no easy games.

Hello again!

Here's a clip of Kyle on his drums. He's been taking lessons for about a year now. He's getting better and better. The main thing is he likes it so much. I have to take my hat off to his teacher. Jeff has been very patient with Kyle and makes his learning fun which at this point, is what it's all about. Here his is, for your listening pleasure, Kyle Kogami on the drums.

Our visit to Hawaii PDF Print E-mail

Fun at the BeachWe recently went back home to Hawaii to visit our friends and relatives. Boy, it was good to be back home to see everyone. Auntie Lois took a few days off from work to take us around. We rented a van so that helped load everybody comfortably. The first day in the islands, we went to Ko Olina. This place is so beautiful and although it's becoming very popular, it still stays clean and empty. The reason is that there isn't much parking so you need to come early or they will turn you away at the gate.

The second day there, I took Kyle out to Ala Moana beach. The girls decided to stay home so I dragged Kyle out with me. We checked out Dave and Busters but they were closed so we ended up walking on the sandy beach at Ala Moana. It was great to spend time with my best buddy. Afterwards, we bought some Manapua and took that home for some grinds. We seemed to always come back to Ala Moana because after lunch, we ended up at Ala Moana shopping center. The girls seemed happy walking and shopping and going to Jungle Fun. We all had a good time. Later on, we went to have our special Shaved ice. Me and Kyle had the rainbow with ice cream on the bottom. Ching-Chi had her Li Hi Mui flavor and Kaitlin and Auntie Lois had strawberry.

On Saturday, we met my friends at, you guessed it, Ala Moana beach. We began the day splashing around. Kaitlin learned how to surf. Well, she laid down on the board and Ching-Chi and Kyle pushed her around. She was having so much fun. At the park, we caught up with my friends. It's always so nice to see them and to see what they're up to. Bari's girl was sick so she didn't come out. Kaitlin was a little sad about that but she was able to cause trouble to her older brother. The wind picked up a little and we saw a easy-up rolling around on the beach. The picnic was great and as always, thanks to Bari for organizing it.

On Sunday, the winds calmed down and we decided to go to the swap meet. Kaitlin bought this beautiful bear made up of little beads. The first time she saw it she knew she had to have it. She kept asking about it and asking and asking... cheezzzzz. Auntie Lois was nice enough to buy it for her. What a nice thing to do. Kyle bought a sacred hawaiian turtle. It's made out of wood and the locals say it brings good luck. We'll see... After the swap meet we went out to the Windward mall. The place has a Glow Putt which is a lot of fun. You play golf in the dark and everything around glows. After that we went to Pali Lookout. It never fails, this place is always WINDY! The kids have a great time getting blown around.

Everytime we go to Hawaii, Kaitlin learns something new. This time, she learned that the red stop signs says "Stop". the blue stop signs say "Forget it!"

It was a very short trip this time around. I hope to come back soon and see everybody.

Until next time...

Riding on the Trikes PDF Print E-mail

For Christmas, we bought some Trikes for the kids. They loved it. Even mommy and me both like to use Kyle's Trike. Kaitlin is probably the best one on the Trike. She knows how to make it go and how to have a lot of fun on it. Kyle is also very good but he'll go out of control and get close to flipping the thing. Mommy is smmooooth on the Trike. She can make it glide so effortlessly. As for me, I just take the videos and watch them go by. Here's a sample of our Trikes. Enjoy.

Teddy

In 2008 we visited Yosemite. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time. We brought the bikes which made getting around to areas we would have never seen if we had to walk. We did some hiking and even made it up to the lower falls. We roughed it at the Yosemite lodge which is a great place to stay. We saw a bear cub, a deer and lots of scenic beauty.

We'll be back one day.
